From time to time we produce slideshows for talks around the community. This is the latest and covers the period from the 1880's almost to the present. It runs for approximately 6 minutes.
In a significant but happy surprise to most Ballarat residents, water returned to the Lake much faster than expected. As of early 2011 the Lake was full again. Rowing has resumed and yachts are again being seen on the water.
There has been remarkable growth in water weed since the Lake refilled. We are almost at the conclusion of an extensive weed cutting exercise to clear large areas of weed to enable easy access for a variety of boats.
Work continues on dredging the rowing course to make it suitable for competition events. There's something a bit odd about seeing an excavator sitting out in the middle of the Lake as part of this work.
