Australia Day  2026  was  a wonderful day enjoyed by thousands. 

Thousands of people joined us for an exuberant celebration of Australia Day 2026 at the Golden City Paddle Steamer Museum Society, where the spirit of community and heritage comes alive! This family-friendly event promises a day full of excitement, learning, and leisure—

It started their morning AT PIPER'S LANDING with  an action filled beginning to a day of patriotic celebration. Visiting  the Lake Gardens area, near the Pipers Pavilion. Meanwhile, sports enthusiasts did dive into the Come ‘n Try sessions for canoeing, kayaking, walking football etc.

For the nautical enthusiasts, the  charm of a short cruise aboard the Golden City Paddle Boat upon the scenic Lake Wendouree was a must. With Cruises departing every 20 minutes from Piper's Landing.

Many strolled  on an enchanting journey back in time with the Vintage Car display on the nearby Windmill Drive, while  the children indulged in Come and Try fishing., Scouting Australia Camping display and more.

At the  Lake Wendouree Museum, near View Point, children  unleashed their creativity with Kids Art and Craft Activities, featuring themes on Australian flora and fauna. Partook of a  Sausage at our BBQ  pavilion.  An array of Cultural Festivities involving many local cultural Groups  entertained all with song and Dance at View point.

Many delved  deeper into the rich tapestry of our nation with the Ballarat Society of  Artists' presentations inside the Lake Wendouree Museum, The thme "Moments in Time - Ballarat" was well received.  "The Message"—a profound Aboriginal cultural presentation, on our TV screens and explorations of Indigenous Australian Traditions was presented.

Some fueled their adventure at the City of Ballarat Family Picnic located in Victoria Park with delightful food and music.

Others capped  off their day with the soothing melodies of the Municipal Brass Band by the Lake or walked the escorted historical Street avenues with the Webster Street Historical Tour.

A free bus  operated all day to allow  travel between the various activity sites around the lake on a 20 minute timetable.

The Australia Day, came together to revel in the joy of our nation's past, present, and future. to make memories that will last a lifetime!
